Very good idea.

Greetings and a hug.

They realize that here we have [...] solution to plastic pollution in the environment?
The fact that this very good idea but it is also original and is super sleek, this should not only spread but also to practice it, and also to work with a project that includes this mechanism, unless the employers come brickworks, and we cover their mouth with a finger, as often happens in other areas.

The fact that the genius, the desire to improve the adaptability of people continues to amaze me and I am very happy.
CONGRATULATIONS TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN (IN PLACE OF THE WORLD ANYWHERE)! YES THIS IS A WORTHY OF SPREAD MAIL!!

Sapphire Energy Builds Investment Syndicate to Fund Commercialization of Green Crude Production

Download Press Release

Total capital raised substantially exceeds $100 million

SAN DIEGO – September 17, 2008 – Sapphire Energy took another step closer to bringing Green Crude Production to commercial scale today by announcing it has raised substantial additional financing from existing and new investors.

Sapphire Energy’s Series B round of investment brings the company’s total funding to substantially more than $100 million, and Sapphire is now financed to scale up its production facilities to full commercial feasibility. Sapphire anticipates relying on existing investors to achieve its initial commercial production capability of 10,000 barrels per day.

Sapphire’s production facilities will be capable of expanding and growing easily and economically because production is modular, transportable, and fueled by sunlight – not constrained by land, crops, or other natural resources. The company aims to produce Green Crude at a commercial scale within three to five years.

“With this investment, Sapphire has the resources to make partnering decisions independent of the need for financing, and the ability to build our first commercial facility with internal funding," said CEO Jason Pyle.

Sapphire Energy uses sunlight, CO2, industrial microorganisms, non-arable land and non-potable water to produce alternatives to common products made from petroleum. Sapphire’s Green Crude is similar to light sweet crude and can be refined into chemically identical fuel products such as gasoline, jet fuel and diesel products entirely compatible with the current energy infrastructure — from pipelines and refineries to cars and airplanes. The company announced the world’s first renewable 91 octane gasoline that conforms to ASTM certification in May 2008.

“We created Sapphire Energy by working backwards and considering what a perfect fuel would look like – carbon neutral, renewable, not dependent on arable land or potable water,” said Pyle. “We are creating an entirely new category of energy – Green Crude Production – and are now at a point where we can focus on implementing our plans without worrying about fundraising.”

Sapphire’s investors include ARCH Venture Partners, Wellcome Trust, Venrock and Cascade Investment, LLC, an investment holding company owned by Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates.

Sapphire recently established a test and research site in New Mexico, and is evaluating locations across the United States.

About Sapphire Energy

Sapphire Energy was founded to address the overwhelming inadequacies of current biofuel approaches. The company has built a revolutionary platform using sunlight, CO2 and microorganisms such as algae to produce renewable, 91 octane gasoline that meets ASTM standards. The final product is not ethanol or biodiesel. Sapphire is led by a team of entrepreneurs and experts in cell biology, plant genomics and algal production, as well as investors with long histories of taking innovative technology to market, including co-founder ARCH Venture Partners, along with the Wellcome Trust, Cascade Investment and Venrock. Sapphire’s scientific supporters include The Scripps Research Institute; University of California, San Diego; the University of Tulsa, and the Department of Energy’s Joint Genome Project. The company is located in San Diego. For more information, visit www.sapphireenergy.com and www.greencrudeproduction.com.

Pallet House Designs by Architects I-Beam
November 16, 2009 Category: House Design

Building pallet house designs

These pallet houses were designed as temporary homes for refugees, that a combined structure for a refugee house would have included a shipping container for all the essential service utility functions, surrounded by the pallet structure. Eco Architecture Pallet House Created by the architecture firm I-Beam.
Information about the Pallet House Design / Refugee Housing comes to 57th Street from I-Beam Design :

The nondescript warehouse on the corner of West 57th street at the entrance to the Henry Hudson Parkway is usually home to the assorted boxes, crates and old furniture you would expect to find in a warehouse. But for the past week it has been home to an entirely different type of inhabitant, a full-scale house built entirely from castaway shipping pallets.

For the past week New York Architect firm I-Beam Design has been building a prototype of their award-winning refugee Pallette House in preparation for its premiere at the Milan Architecture Triennale. The Triennale entitled, A Home For All promotes research into emergency housing in order to collect and compare plans for a different constructive, social and economic model of the home and of communities.

I-Beam’s Palette House is made of wooden shipping palettes. Palettes are versatile, recyclable, sustainable, and easily assembled. Their transportation cost is negligible because they are used to carry shipments of clothing, food, and medical supplies to disaster areas.

Additionally, I-Beam Design is looking for a home for their Pallette house. They are looking to donate the house to any worthy organization looking to exhibit it or use it for humanitarian housing.

The Pallet House Design / Refugee Housing building feature a creative array of built-in furniture (made of shipping pallets, of course) like a dining area, benches and flower boxes. (... see more photos+)

The Art of Container Construction

Container Home Construction Explained:

Construction with used shipping containers has made incredible advances over the past few years. It's no longer uncommon to see stories about shipping container homes on the evening news and the Internet will lead you to dozens of drawings and renderings of cargo container home concepts.

Given today's economic conditions more and more people are getting serious about saving on construction costs, reducing maintenance, and keeping more equity in their pockets. So, when it becomes possible to build a sleek, secure, modern home with the classic good looks of the case study homes of the mid 20th Century, for a fraction of the cost of traditional construction, people get interested.

But, even with all this interest, you will quickly find out that it's still virtually impossible to get any concrete information on learning how to design and build with used shipping containers.

Shipping Container Home Design:

Because their standard design and modular nature, shipping containers provide a flexibility that makes them almost irresistible to anyone with an eye for design. If you have found this web site and have read this far it's probably because you see the ecological sense and simplicity of this method of building. You may even have a design of your own in mind, if you do, wouldn't it be helpful to have an affordable way to play around with various floor plans, to be able to look at the layout in three dimensions, perhaps even adding people and landscaping for perspective?

Con-Structure provides you with the hard information necessary to learn all of the steps of designing and building with used shipping containers. Including the 3D CAD programs you will need to get up to speed right away. ...(more)

It's something to buy; haven't seen it but perhaps it's worth a try:

The Cloisters ~ Renaissance (rebirth)

The Cloisters, originally uploaded by IslesPunkFan.

What was life like from the twelfth through the fifteenth century?

It was the Renaissance, a time of cultural rebirth.
No wonder I catch my breath when I "see" from this era.
No wonder I loved France so much. Medieval. My time, my era, for sure.

The Renaissance (French for "rebirth"; Italian: Rinascimento, from ri- "again" and nascere "be born")[1] was a cultural movement that spanned roughly the 14th to the 17th century, beginning in Florence in the Late Middle Ages and later spreading to the rest of Europe. ... (more)

wiki.answers.com/Q/How_can_people_literally_see_the_past_by_using_light_waves

How can people literally see the past by using light waves?
In: Physics

Answer

Here's the example that illustrate what you just asked. I will be using this example from astronomy. When you look up the sky to the stars, you are literally seeing into the past. The distance from you to the star you are looking at is x lightyears away. Lightyear is distance light travles in 1 year. So if a star is, say 100 lightyears away from you, then you are seeing the state of the star that much time ago.

The Cloisters, the branch of The Metropolitan Museum of Art devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe, was assembled from architectural elements, both domestic and religious, that date from the twelfth through the fifteenth century. The building and its cloistered gardens—located in Fort Tryon Park in Northern Manhattan—are treasures in themselves, effectively part of the collection housed there. The Cloisters collection comprises approximately five thousand works of art from medieval Europe, dating from about the ninth to the fifteenth century. 3D Printing Demo by scorch1974

THIS IS TERRIFIC: We could collect old inkjet printers - saving them from landfills and all the problems they cause - and bring them to Guatemala where people could make things to use. People here have more time than money so this would be a real boon to everyone concerned. Some of the schools here in Panajachel, Lake Atitlan, Guatemala, would probably love to give this a try. Now, if someone could come up with using recyclable plastic, much of the trash and lack of landfill problems could be solved around Lake Atitlan. Wonders of Wonders. Will imagination never end?

This technique uses powder made of 50% Weldwood & 50% Water Putty.
Comment from deminisher98: "Every time it "prints" it applies a layer of water thus hardening the sand or clay or whatever and then when you make the "sand" over the newly "printed" thing, you apply another layer of sand to make it thicker... Right?" Right.

Terrific. Can't wait to try it. Hope the inventor, scorch1974, responds.
