An Apple a Day: Solar Bottle Light

Some more excellent photos of the solar bottle bulb project, from the blog "An Apple a Day: Solar Bottle Light"

"The materials to create one include: (1) 1.5 or 2 liter soda PET bottle, (2) corrugated sheets; and (3) water+chlorox+salt." (Note: I'm not sure about the salt, but water+chlorox+plastic bottle is correct)

This idea is really amazing. And it is eco-friendly. Filipinos are intelligent in inventing this.

It actually wasn't the Filipinos who invented this idea; it was a man in Brazil, and a video interview with him was posted on YouTube 3 years ago! But a Liter of Light organization has popularized it with the media and are working to install one million solar light bulbs in the Phillipines. It's a wonderful idea and I can't wait to try it here in Guatemala.
